Natural beauty products are all the rage these days. I absolutely love that the word is spreading about how harmful all these chemicals that are found in beauty products really are to our bodies. As much as we are careful of what we put into our bodies, it's easy to forget that our skin is the largest organ of the body. What we put on the outside of our bodies is just as important as the inside.
In Ayurveda, we say that the skin has 7 layers--one for each tissue of the body--lymph, blood, muscle, fat, bone, reproductive, nervous. Whatever we put on the outside of the skin has the ability to seep into all 7 layers. This is another reason why we have to be careful to what we use. Now, I'm not saying toss everything that you own immediately and go buy new stuff at this moment. That's really hard to to do for many, myself included. But, I've made a conscious choice to start replacing my beauty products as they run out with products that are actually good for my skin, and work amazingly! Check these out, and let me know what other beauty products work great for you! 1. Banyan Botanicals Daily Massage Oil This oil is literally heaven-sent. Warm a little bit up before your shower. Give yourself a nice massage, and then let it all seep in while you hop into a nice hot shower. The base of this oil is sesame, coconut, and sunflower oils--fantastic for all body types. Notice your skin get instantly more supple and soft the more you use it. 2. Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Day Cream I absolutely love this face cream. Rose is great for moisturization and cooling the skin. I've found this to be so amazing to my skin. My face has never been softer. All you need is a little dab throughout your face, so this small tub will last you forever. You can find this amazing cream at stores like Target or Amazon! 3. Aveda Botanical Kinetics Face Cleanser Aveda is a beauty company founded in Ayurveda, so you can't go wrong with this company, right?! This gentle scrub is great for a very mild exfoliation, especially for those who have sensitive skin. My skin really is left feeling very soft. Combo it with the day cream, and you've got a flawless skin routine. 4. Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel Again, I know, another product for your face, but it's really amazing. We all know that toner should be a part of anyone's beauty regimen. Truthfully though, I find toners to be extremely harsh on my skin. The alcohol is just too much. But this witch hazel has been perfect as a toner. I'm always disgusted by the junk that comes off on the cotton swab. Give it a shot. I love this stuff. And there you have it folks. Try these products out, and let me know what you think! What other products do you swear by? Let me know!
