I love arugula! This slightly bitter leafy green is packed with vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients. It's a great veggie for the liver, which will indirectly help cleanse your blood. It also works great to give you a mild detox in your lymph system. From an Ayurvedic perspective, the bitter taste works as a cleanser in the body to help push debris out of the system. Summer is such a great time to get boatloads of arugula, and that is exactly what I did. I ended up with 3 bags of arugula--more than I really knew what to do with. So, I decided to make a yummy arugula pesto that can sit in the fridge for up to a week (longer if you freeze it).
