We've finally reached the 80s in New Mexico. I couldn't be more grateful. I am an outdoors girl through and through, and the weather is perfect for this southern girl to bask in.

Routine these past few weeks have been better. Despite the fact that I know I'm doing them, I legitimately feel better. This is just a testament to the wonder and beauty of Ayurveda. Being able to find grace for myself has become easier, and again I can attribute that to my routines. (I've written numerous times about why routines are so important, so check it out here!)

I don't know if it's just me, but this quarantine has opened up a side of me that I haven't seen in a while. For me it's the creative side. I think partly I have to thank the time to be able to write these blog posts more often has definitely helped. But, I don't know, it's weird. I have a sincere desire to paint and create and write. Not only that, but somehow I've rekindled my passion for studying. My normal workload hasn't decreased by any means. If anything, I feel like I'm juggling WAY more things than normal (I mean, what is normal these days right?!).

Is anyone else feeling this way? The desire to veg out and do nothing has significantly decreased. Is this what having some space feels like? Fluidity seems to be coming back to my life. I don't hate it one bit.

What's something that you have recently re-discovered?

Anyone feeling thirstier than usual? That's your body's way of naturally preparing you for summer. Drink up. Minimum 1/2 your body weight in ounces. Room temp or warm. Hydration is something SUPER important to me, so let's all get to it.
Hibiscus tea. This is one of my favorite go-to's in the heat. Ayurvedically, hibiscus is cooling and astringent--2 things that ARE great for the pitta time of year. Hibiscus also has a slight cleansing property due to the astringency, so it can be great to help clear out random toxins floating around in the circulatory system. Don't sweeten it too much when you make it. I use simple teabags and put in a touch of honey. So good.
Simple sunshine. I've been spending every moment outside I can. We've been eating all our meals outside, and I try to even work out there for a little bit (unless the wind is ravaging). I recommend it. Get in your Vitamin D dose. Greatly needed for all of us!
Clearly my few random things this week are simple and fluid-related. But, alas that's why we're calling it "random". Hope you are finding a few random things that put a smile on your face this week!
