Gurupurnima. Not just any other day in the year. As a kid, I never put too much emphasis on this day, even though it was celebrated throughout my life. (Funny, how this has been the true story of my life--finding value 20 years later). But, nonetheless, I have grown to appreciate this holiday and what it brings to our life. And I thought, why not revisit with all of you.

Here we go. Gurupurnima.

Find Your Space

Chaos. Crazy. Busy. Hectic. Stressful.

These are all words that we find are used to describe life more and more and more. It's a pity isn't it? We are constantly on the go and go, that life truly is passing us by. It is for me at least. I think back to this last week, and I can barely remember what I ate, yet alone all of the joyous memories that were created--or were there any?

With the world moving so fast, and probably even faster, how do we take the time to slow down so that we are able to actually experience every moment? Having the ability to find your space allows you to do just that. The best part? It is such a personal concept, that whatever and however you find that only you will be able to tell.

If there is one thing that I tell people these days it's to find your space, however that manifests for you.

Here are some things that have worked for me:
  • Pranayama or breath work. This is so key for me. I start my day every morning taking in fresh prana and air, all while letting all of the junk leave. Clearing my body of those subtle toxins plays a huge role in finding your space.
  • Journaling. I've mentioned this before, but again, this is another great one. Try just giving yourself a brain dump. Clear your mind and heart to allow for stillness to come in.
  • Being okay with the quiet. This is by far the hardest one to practice. Being still and quiet, and being okay with that quiet takes a lot of effort. Especially when we are always on the go-go-go. But this one reaps huge benefits!

What else works for you?

Do you have the ability to take
Chaos. Crazy. Busy. Hectic. Stressful. and turn them into
LOVE. ORDER. BEAUTY. CALM. YOU.?
