So, some girlfriends and I watched Failure to Launch tonight. I mean quintessential Chick Flick, right? What's not to love about an old school RomCom on a Friday with none other than Matthew McConaughey. Well, little did I know I was going to be reminded of a beautiful lesson.
If you haven't seen this movie, then you know that this Bradley Cooper before he really became Bradley Cooper...a side kick. Naturally he plays the role of the hippie best friend who travels the world and is living the life. Right?
Well, something he said really struck me, and I have to admit that it was pretty spot on. He was telling his best friend Trip (MM) in the movie that bad things were happening to him because he wasn't living in accordance with nature. He was telling him that nature was going against him. I mean, y'all! How brilliant, right?!
This really couldn't be any more accurate. I want you to ask yourself right now, are you living against your true nature, against who you really are? I fully believe with all of my heart that the Universe is on our side. But, that requires some effort on our end, right?
Are you doing things that make you happy? That make you whole? Are you pretending to be someone you're not? Are you doing things that just let the time go by, with no awareness whatsoever? And maybe, just maybe, not everything is 100% going your way?
Well, take it from Mr. Cooper--you can't live against your nature. You just can't. Things will never go the way you want them to if you're not living into who you are meant to be.
Not a single day should go by for you to not live your best life. When you're living with full awareness, selfless love, and just being the best version of yourself, the Universe has no choice but to lean into you and push you along to live out your purpose.
So, if there is anything this post should illicit, I hope it gives you a reinvigorated passion to live your best life, to be the best you, to find that the Universe is on your side.
Thanks Bradley. ;)
