march ending thoughts

Sometimes, you don't win all of them. I'm learning to brush aside self-pity and negativity, and instead redirect into more productive places in my life. And although I may not have been "lucky" in the month of March, I sure did learn a lot. And I have high hopes for the month of April.
March was tough y'all! I felt a little stuck, and not able to get the momentum I needed to maintain my intentions of the year. I sure as heck didn't do a majority of my morning practices, nor did I exercise as much. I found a slump in a course I'm taking and feel as though I didn't make a ton of progress. I didn't even finish any books, which is very unlike me.

But. Positives.
  • It's officially Spring. I have high hopes of refreshing my routine and getting back on track.
  • Spring break happened. And it was joyous. And much needed. And I ate a lot of food. And for that, I'm super grateful!
  • I got a TON of work done before the week of Spring Break, and for that I feel really successful. I mean I bulldozed through a ton of stuff, and that felt really good, so that I was able to enjoy my time off.
  • When Spring Break ended, I committed to a week of resetting my diet--and I did it. No temptations, and I stuck to what I set out to do. And luckily, most definitely reset my digestion. Nothing a little Ayurveda can't fix.
  • N and I started biking to our favorite coffeeshop on Sundays. I feel so good about new routines and hobbies with my best friend. As snowboarding season is coming to an end, it's nice to be able to stay outdoors.
  • SO.MUCH.TIME being spent outside. As soon as the weather gets nice, there's literally nowhere I want to be. Spring fever is a real thing, and I'm so thankful I'm able to work from outside to enjoy the beauty of the SUN!
  • I set phone boundaries! YES! This is the best thing I've done for myself. Seriously. If you don't know what I'm talking about, message me ASAP and let me help you. It's the best thing for your sanity and your relationship with yourself.
So, I guess when I reflect back with y'all, I'm realizing that there was so much good in March. There are seasons to everything in your life, and sometimes, one thing needs to take a back seat in order for another important piece of you to really shine. It's a lesson I'm learning moment-to-moment. It's a tough one, but, I'm realizing that every part of my life can't demand 100% all the time. Otherwise, I'm just going to be one crabby person.

Being in seasons and learning to ebb and flow with what is calling for you more prominently is part of life, and a huge lesson that ayurveda is teaching me, day in and day out. And, with time, I hope you're able to find solace in that too.

Here's to a beautiful April with a new season coming!
much love,
-n
